How to Use the Chess Clock
Select a time control preset (Blitz 5min, Rapid 10min, 15+10, or Custom) and optionally set an increment (seconds added after each move — Fischer clock style). Press Start Game. The first player's clock starts running immediately. After making your move, tap your panel to stop your clock and start your opponent's. The glowing panel shows whose turn it is. When a player's time hits zero, they lose on time.
- Pause: Pause both clocks (for restroom breaks or interruptions) without losing time.
- Keyboard: Press Spacebar to switch the active player's clock.
Chess Time Controls Explained
- Bullet (1–2 min): Ultra-fast. Reaction speed matters more than deep calculation.
- Blitz (3–5 min): The most popular online format. Quick games with real tactics.
- Rapid (10–15 min): Good balance of speed and strategic depth.
- Increment (Fischer): Seconds added after each move — prevents time scrambles and rewards good technique.
